Adventure Quest Honor Roll and Information

All members of There are welcomed as always to participate in Adventure Quests.  Only those in the club will be eligible for these rank awards.  The Adventure Quest club does require a basic author level to join.  If you are interested in joining Adventure Quest and need that skill, please contact Josie2 for assistance.

Quest Writer Procedures and Guidelines

Here are some guidelines for the club starting this year:

• Who can write quests for Adventure Quest?  Any club member, but if you want your quest to be the club of the week or month, please sign up in the club forum and get on the schedule.
• What if I don't want my quest to be the quest of the week or month?  Any club member may drop a quest in the club house.  However, please DO NOT DROP IT ON THE STAGE unless it is the quest of the week or month.
• Is there any compensation for writing quests for the clubhouse? I support the quests of the week or month as I am able to.  I can only offer support of providing the clubhouse for other quests.  There does not provide any bux for compensation or prizes.  I handle those out of my own pocket and from donations and backers.
• How can I advertise my quest? People hosting quests of the week or month have first priority in scheduling their events.  I recommend you schedule as early as you can and then invite There_events.  If you invite There_events with enough lead time, you can get notice on There Fun Times email.  People hosting other quests in the club may also schedule those events, but please work around the official quest of the week or month.  You may also want to list your quest at the Quest Spotters web page.
• Do I have to be present to host a quest? The very nature of quests makes it difficult to always be present when a quest is running.  However, you will want to provide any necessary tips to help members get through the quest.  Be available as much as you can in world and via email for questing support for the players.
• What policies should I follow in making a quest? Don't make your clues too obscure.  Think about a person who has been in world only a month or so.  Would the quest be doable by that person?  If not, consider giving some additional tips or pointers.  As for content, I like to keep that as open as possible, however, keep a mind open to topics that others may find offensive.  We won't completely sanitize that, I'm sure, but try to keep a balance and a thought toward the comfort of others.  Of course, we do not want any content that violates TOS.
• Any other tips?  Check your quest out yourself.  I am often hurried to get a quest out and don't take sufficient time to check it.  That has bitten me in the backside more than once.  Try to make the quest flow well.  Consider spelling variations and accommodate those as you are able to.

Frequently Asked Questing Questions

• I'm new, where should I start?  The quests near the Current Quests sign are tutorials for various types of quest.  Questing Tutorial for general information, New to Puzzle Quests, Navigation Quest, and Going There are all tutorials.  Going There is a tutorial more for using the There client than for questing in general.
• Where are the quests that count for the ladder .. the official AQ quests? They will always be on the stage.  Other quests around the room are for your fun, enjoyment, and education, but are not counted toward the ladder.
• Why do I keep getting removed from the event? Quests, by nature, require you to go out and about in There.  However, the clubhouse thinks we schedule events for the clubhouse only.  When you leave the clubhouse, it tells you to come back.  Just ignore it.  You can even cancel the event.  The only records that matter are the quest participation lists on the quest kit.
• Why can't I join the Adventure Quest club? When I made the club, I intended it to be for quest makers.  It has turned into a club for quest players instead.  The original club requirements were that members must have basic author skills.  Those are easy enough to get.  Get a document from the shop, write it, drop it where folks can click on it.  You'll get basic author in no time.
• Why can't I schedule an event in the Adventure Quest clubhouse?  Only premium members may schedule events, and only members of the Adventure Quest club may schedule events there. 
• Do I get any compensation for questing? The official quests usually offer a raffle drawing for the completers.  However, only premium members may receive TBux from other members.  The questing ladder explains other prizes you can win for questing, however, you must be a premium member.  Otherwise, I can't pass you anything. 
• The quest kits says I am doing the clue out of order.  What's that all about? We have a bug in the kits that will sometimes report you are doing clues out of order when you are not.  This is usually associated with server glitches.  Sometimes it clears up in a matter of minutes, as the server resets.  Most often it will be cleared up by the next maintenance period at the worst.  Check to be sure that you have indeed gotten credit (show up on the particpation list) as having completed the previous clue.  Let me know if you get persistent out of order messages that continue into the next day.
• I'm stuck.  The host is not in world. I need help.  Where can I find it? Be sure you read the entire quest clue.  Sometimes a wrong answer will give you an additional clue.  IMing the host is a good next step.  If that doesn't work, email the host.  If you can't wait that long, look at the members listed in the Adventure Quest club.  See who is online.  Usually they will be happy to help you.  Better yet, check the quest progress list and see who is ahead of you.  If you can find them in world, they may be able and willing to assist.
• What are these other quests?  You will find the official quests on the stage.  As you enter the club, the quests to the left are tutorials, and the ones to the right are tours.  On either side of the stage, you might find quests dropped by other members for your questing pleasure.
• Where can I find other quests? Check Happening Now, and also look at the Current Quests and link to Quest Spotters to find out about other quests around world.
