Island Guide All Stars!

What is this?
A replacement for Island Guide of the Month accessible to any guides who wish to try for it.
Do I have to bother with this?
No.  It's an additional honor parallel to Basic and Above and Beyond participation.
What's in it for me?
  • Designation as an All Star of the Month will list you in the article explaining the honor along with quotes from guides and new members assisted by those guides.
  • You can earn an additional rank step.  You will advance 2 steps for Basic performance that was of All Star quality and you will advance 3 steps for Above and Beyond performance that meets All Star criteria.
  • We are considering a special All Star shirt for those who meet All Star criteria X times, perhaps consecutively.
OK, so how do I meet All Star Criteria?
You need at least 12 of the verifed contributions listed below.  Five of them MUST be spawn interactions on five different days.  The other 7 you can mix and match.  These 12 are not in addition to the 8 you would do to achieve Basic level.  Anyone who meets All Star criteria automatically meets Basic requirements.  You would need more check in points to achieve Above and Beyond, but the 20 for Above and Beyond may include the 12 for All Stars.
How to take a postcard
Click There>>ThereCam, select Send a postcard.  A screenshot will be taken of the screen you can see at the time.  It does NOT show nametags, however it does show chat bubbles.  Verification postcards should be sent to ThereGuides@yahoo.com

How to verify?
Quality Spawn Check in: Personal interaction with a new member at a spawn area.  Show them the spa, try it machines, emotes, answer their questions.  This is not just passing the brochure or standing around in your shirt.
5 required for All Stars.  These must be on five different days.
Take a postcard of you with the new member you assisted.  There should be chat bubbles showing the name of the new member.  Postcards will be sent to ThereGuides@yahoo.com.
Assisting with Special Events: These are the normal special events we assist with.  They must be special events as defined by greeters.  They are usually associated with partner or themed events and they are always defined in emails and in our forums.

Teaching Experience:  This is taking time with a new member, perhaps away from the spawn to show them something specific.  It could be how to check email, how to use a hoverboat, how to do emotes, how to behave in a race zone, etc. It could also be a mini tour.

This could be done via a postcard or by having the new member email us at ThereGuides@yahoo.com. If you use postcards, be sure the avatar name is visible in chat bubbles.  If the avatars emails us, be sure he mentions your name and the date.  He can also Theremail the avatar GuideOMatic.
Mini Events (hosting or helping):  We sent out a list of possible events to be held at spawns and were meant to be structured so that you can invite the new members around you whom you see.  Possiblities are Q and A, emote classes, dance lessons, etc.

Normal TIGMS reports using our policies of hosting your own events.  That is, if greeters are on duty, coordinate it with them.  If greeters are not on duty, invite the guides to help you, reach out to the new membes, forward the email you get showing how many attended to the ThereGuides@yahoo.com address.
Getting new members to sign up for our clubs or the special events.
