How to Become an Island Guide |

If the idea of welcoming new members and helping out with some of There's big events appeals to you, you may want to consider becoming an Island Guide. Here's how to do that.
First, be sure you have the requirements to be part of the program
Second, join the Island Guide Applications club.
Greeter_Josie screens the applications club for each class of new guides. When the screening process is complete, qualified guide candidates are invited to orientation sessions. These sessions are usually held on weekends. Each candidate needs to attend one Session I and one Session II. Session I deals with the program structure and day to to operations. Session II deals with safety and behavioral issues. Upon completion of the orientation sessions, candidates are ready to become Island Guides. They will continue building their guide skills as they interact with other members of the team.
Island Guides have the option of having a star in their nametag to identify them as welcomers. They are given uniform pieces and other equipment as they particpate in the program and advance in the guide ranks. Island guides are an extremely important part of our welcoming program, however, they are strictly volunteers. They do NOT have moderation abilities. In fact, their task is to welcome, answer questions, and point new members to fun things to do. It is not a job, and there is no TBux compensation for being a guide.
The minimum amount of participation to remain in good standing in
the program is approximately 4-5 days of Island Guide service per month.
